@@MashITTech But when you show emulated games on a ARM pc to a consumer , they will think it is bad. That's not the case here. Have you tried Rosetta 2 gaming on Macs? It's not that pleasant.

How is it misleading? He’s testing games on it and it’s a good way to benchmark the hardwares performance.

​@@MashITTechYour video is exactly what people need to see. We need to know if these Snapdragon products are even actually worth getting in comparison to their AMD and intel counterparts. And it seems like No. The hype was a bit misleading but the future could still be promising after seeing the uplift in performance compared to previous windows on arm chips. But, I want software to work without any hesitation or thought to if it even can run or run well at all on a Windows laptop. The future personally for me is heading towards the beast of an apu the AMD strix halo series, insane CPU with a built in insane GPU.

actually there were loads of people trying to get gaming working on launch but gaming on Mac is a disaster at the best of times 🤣 I was asked loads so I tried it and I am now on to productivity testing for the next video

I am not sure on the battery as I haven't looked into it but the SSD is easily accessible and replaceable and I will be doing a video on how to do it soon

Please do so. Its unclear in which devices the hdd is not soldered or cant be accessed without tearing the whole bottom case and removing a ton of glue.

The situation is very similar in M3 also. Gaming using Rosetta2 is exactly like this. These PCs are not made for gaming.

I have been asked loads so I tested it. Working on productivity testing atm and good news is my USBC PD screens are working perfectly

Yes same here - I have my workflow mapped out. 1 x older iPad, 1 x Surface Pro used a lot for Office type work and I do not need anything else. If I wanted to game I'd probably buy a small desktop or one of those new mobile gaming machines... Total price of first two actually costs about the same as a Macbook Pro but covers the same workload

It's not about the laptop but basically the capability of WoA and gaming, and whether it can compare to current windows handheld offerings from AMD. An always connected, windows gaming handheld with decent performance would be very cool. Not to mention the possibility of having a gaming laptop that runs almost as well on battery as if it's plugged in.

It is not. But it is better than not having anything. I travel a lot with my job. I have to carry a powerful company laptop for work, and it's huge. Carrying a second gaming laptop for myself is not practical. I still like to have gaming on the go. My current surface (7) acts as my gaming device (using GeForce Now), my entertainment (Netflix, Prime, etc.), and I am still able to use VisualStudio and NetBeans, etc for my nerdier endeavors. Having all of those things and being able to go all day without charging will be very nice. I'm looking forward to eventually upgrading

@@MashITTech and you are disappointed. Why are you disappointed if you knew this laptops were not for gaming. because "many people have asked" is not a justification

Sadly I dont own an xbox, having luck with light single player titles, and when they run they usually play well. It seems mostly the use of anti cheat software that is causing the games not to work

@@MashITTech you don't have to own Xbox, you only need GamePass (PC GamePass) sub or trial but I understand that you don't test it if you don't have it, so no worries. Thanks for letting me know that light games usually work and play well!

Silly qs (and then I will stop posting as already added a load of comments). To have the benefits of the Xbox app and cloud gaming... Do you actually need an Xbox? So could I just have the subscription as a means of gaming using the cloud but not own an Xbox - if so then quite tempting...

@@RemofRenaissance No. You do not have to have a Xbox. You can just play Xbox games on PC or through their cloud from everywhere (PC, browsers, TVs, phone, ...)

until they will use external GPU chip for gaming ...these unit are without future. Intel has a exceptional new architecture effeciency/performance

@@Renovatio2142 Why? Do use ultrabooks for gaming? They will introduce gaming devices in future. These are not gaming focused PCs. They never marketed it that way. I don't know why these "reviewers" misleading people?

yeah, your HS version is 35w should should score just above our T14s 7940u which is limited to 25w

@@MashITTech I don't think it will work with the Snapdragon CPUs because you would first need the Thunderbolt interface and, even if you had that, you would need the appropriate GPU drivers for ARM (which most likely do not exist).

Adreno drivers from snapdragon site please check it out.

Why have they failed?

With all M$ and snapdragons hype, I really thought it was going to be better this time! they have had years to get this right and have billions they can throw at it! It really annoys me

its not that they have failed but its not a smooth launch like Apple Silicon. When that first launched it had a few teething problems but most software worked

@@MashITTech in my mind, it is still a failure because, unlike Apple which can brute force the transition by simultaneously and totally transitioning to Apple Silicon, windows remains fragmented as ever with intel core cpus, intel ultra cpus, AMD Ryzen cpus and so on. If ARM architecture cannot get the first push towards adoption in the early days of launch, people wouldn’t buy it for fear of reduced compatibility, and with low numbers in the market, mainstream developers would be less likely to adopt their software’s for ARM architecture. It would be a vicious cycle for sure.

If you’re judging it’s failure off of game performance, you’ve gotta say apple failed too

As far as I am aware the 1tb version was only released to the china market which is why Aliexpress can sell it. No idea why they did not make it available in EU and USA

I just tested that further it feels like it is actually the physical distance if i just "flick" my fingers fast it basically stops immediately while when i swipe a bit longer no matter if slow or fast i can see the scrolling continues after my fingers leave the touchpad. Depending on the speed it scrolls only a short amount or quite far. But when i just flick my fingers slow/quick the moment my fingers leave the touchpad the scrolling stops when the distance my fingers moved was under 1cm (or so)

I am pretty sure there still isn’t a native app but I will double check shortly
